With an unusual Southerly wind forecast (15-20 kts) from iwindsurf.com, I anticipated unpredictable conditions at Crissy Field. Normally, I only sail in Northwesterly winds.
I loaded up the Tesla Model Y with all my gear and started our drive to San Francisco around 10:00, arriving at Crissy Field at 11:30. There was some fog around the Golden Gate Bridge, but nothing to worry about.
There was a Ho'okahi Pu'uwai Outrigger Canoe Club competition, and the vast majority of parking spaces were occupied by large trailers with the long boats. The wind looked very light, and I wasn't sure whether the 15-20 knots forecast would come true.
After finding a spot to park (the parking was already approaching full capacity), we strolled to Chestnut Street for lunch. Alex arrived ahead of us and added us to the waiting list. We walked along Marina Blvd. and then turned south on Scott Street, arriving at Cracked & Battered at 11:50. Our table wasn't ready yet, so we decided to see whether other restaurants had availability.
Our favorite Souvla was available (but I wasn't in the mood for salad). Napizza seemed completely empty (was it even open for lunch?) We returned to Cracked & Battered and were seated at around 12:30. We ordered the following items:
- Alex: Fried Chicken Benedict, coffee
- Boris: Fried Chicken & Waffle, coffee
- Inna: Fried Chicken, Shakshuka, coffee
The Fried Chicken was amazing, and the waffle was also fantastic. Inna enjoyed her Shakshuka.
After lunch, I walked back to Crissy Field with Inna and Alex to see whether the wind had picked up. I saw a few wing foilers sail out, and Alex convinced me to give it a shot.
I rigged the following wing-foiling gear:

- GoPro Hero 11 Black Mini cam in a plastic waterproof case
I had a wonderful one-hour session, blasting along. The wind was gusty, and the water was not too choppy.

I finished around 15:30, de-rigged, and loaded the gear back in the Tesla Model Y. I messaged Inna at around 16:00 and walked back to Equator Coffees at Fort Mason Center.
We ordered 2 cappuccinos there, and I enjoyed some warm liquid after wing foiling in the bay.
I had purchased tickets for the Aerial New Site Work show at Fort Mason for 17:00 and didn't want to miss it. I write about the show here.
After the show, we walked to Milos Meze (one of our favorite local Greek restaurants), where Inna had made dinner reservations for 18:30.
