Cochem, Germany

After visiting Burg Eltz Castle, we decided to visit the little town of Cochem, Germany. Cochem is located on the Moselle River. The whole region has many quaint little towns with numerous wineries.

There is a little tourist train to shuttle tourists from downtown to Sesselbahn.

There is a lovely castle on the hill - Schloss Reichsburg in Cochem. The castle is now a hotel.

The Moselle River is quite broad, with many tourist boats.

After exploring downtown Cochem, we decided to take the Sesselbahn to the top.

The view from the top of the hill is quite spectacular.

We took the Sesselbahn back down to Cochem and decided to grab lunch. We chose Gaststatte Noss Restaurant among many restaurants in a row.

We had a delicious salad at Gaststatte Noss.

After the salad, we shared a delicious Flammenkuchen - a thin crust of bread with cheese and salmon - it's like a thin-crust pizza, only better!

After lunch, we explored Cochem, visiting many gift shops. There were so many cute figurines and other unique gifts.

There were many cruises on the Moselle River, but we did not have enough time.

There were many cute gifts to consider:

We decided to try some desserts as we saw many delicious cakes and pies on display.

The pies and cakes were so delicious!
