Windsurfing Coyote Point on new Ezzy Elite sails

After 25+ years of windsurfing on 20-year-old gear (1996 Ezzy Transformer sails, Aluminum Chinook booms, and PowerEx masts), I returned to the sport with new, modern gear.

I found an excellent deal online at Isthmus Windsurfing, where Jon Massman was able to help me build a new quiver of sails based on 2016 Ezzy Elite sails and Ezzy Masts.

I purchased the following gear:
  • 2016 Ezzy Elite 4.5m
  • 2016 Ezzy Elite 5.0m
  • 2016 Ezzy Elite 5.7m
  • 2016 Ezzy Elite 6.4m
  • Ezzy RDM XT 60 mast 400cm
  • Ezzy RDM XT 60 mast 430cm
  • Chinook 2-bolt rubber
  • Chinook Skinny Aluminum Extension small
  • Chinook Skinny Aluminum Extension med
  • 2016 Chinook Pro 1 Carbon 150-200cm boom

I also purchased a new waist harness - Dakine T7 - from Windance in Oregon.

I finally got to sail in my new gear on Friday, June 2. I rigged the Ezzy Elite 5.7m on the 430cm mast with a small extension (although it is recommended to use the bottom 400 and top 430). I sailed out on the Flow 276 board in a gusty wind. It was such a pleasure to sail using a light, responsive rig. Too bad the wind died, but I had a lot of fun.

I am looking forward to sailing some more on the new gear.
