Foiling at Sherman Island

I arrived at Sherman Island at around 14:05, with the light traffic. At first, I parked by the power lines, but then I re-parked in Sherman Island County Park to enable easier foil access to the playpen area.

Initially, I rigged my Ezzy Elite 5.7m sail, intending to use it with my Exocet RF81 foil with the Slingshot Infinity 76 wing.

At around 15:45, I launched my Exocet RF81 and blasted about an hour at Sherman Island. However, the wind continued to increase, and I decided to change gear. I was seriously overpowered on the foil. In heavy winds, I prefer to windsurf.

I took the Fanatic FreeWave 105/Stubby out of the van, attached a True Ames 36' fin, and was back on the water. Much better! I was having fun, blasting at Sherman Island on my Fanatic board. After the Exocet, it feels positively tiny!

Here is a GoPro Hero7 Black video I recorded of my session:

I enjoyed my two hours of sailing and was exhausted afterward. Windsurfing is definitely more tiring than windfoiling.
