With an unusual Southerly wind forecast (15-20 kts) from iwindsurf.com, I anticipated unpredictable conditions at Crissy Field. Normally, I only sail on Northwesterly winds.
I loaded up the Tesla Model Y with all my gear and started our drive to San Francisco around 11:00, arriving at Crissy Field at 12:50. There was some fog around the Golden Gate Bridge, but nothing to worry about.
After finding a spot to park (the parking was already approaching full capacity), we strolled to Chestnut Street for lunch. I didn't find the most convenient spot (that I normally do) for rigging and launching my wing foiling gear.
There was a wing foiling race, and other wing foilers were literally flying across the water. They were much better than me.
We messaged Alex, who was living at his new place in the city, to see if we could meet up for lunch at our favorite Cracked & Battered. Luckily, Alex was available and arrived there before us!
After sitting down outside (on barstools), we ordered the following items:
- Alex: fried chicken & waffle, coffee
- Boris: fried chicken & waffle, coffee
- Inna: 1 piece of fried chicken, 2 eggs over easy, coffee
The chicken was amazing, and the waffle was also fantastic.
After lunch, I walked back to Crissy Field, while Inna and Alex went to explore the shops around Fillmore.
I rigged the following wing foiling gear (I had to wait for someone to leave the parking lot, as his car was double parked).

I had a wonderful one-hour session, blasting along. The wind was up and down, quite gusty.

I finished around 16:00, de-rigged, and loaded the gear back in the Tesla Model Y. I messaged Inna, who was strolling around Fillmore, and came to pick her up from Sezane San Francisco. From there, we drove to Room & Board to look at some bedroom sets for our upcoming home remodel.
After looking at various storage cabinets and bedroom sets, we decided to eat dinner at the nearby Bay of Burma, a tiny Burmese restaurant, a short walk away. This area was a bit sketchy but not as bad as Tenderloin.
We ordered the following items:
- Tea Leaf Salad
- Shwe Taung Khouk Swai (Noodles with Chicken)
- Mohingar (Fish Stew)
The Tea Leaf Salad was excellent, and the Noodles were also light and amazing.
