Anniversary Dinner at Evvia

For our 17th Wedding Anniversary, we decided to have a nice, romantic dinner at the Evvia Restaurant in Palo Alto. At first, I made dinner reservations at 21:00 on Sunday, October 14th (using OpenTable), but I could book an earlier time (by calling the restaurant directly).

The last time we dined at Evvia was on Bella's 83rd birthday, and we enjoyed our dinner a lot. Evvia is similar to Dio Deka (a fine Greek restaurant in Los Gatos) in many ways. Evvia is slightly less expensive than Dio Deka, offering the same or better quality entrees.

We started our dinner with a couple of glasses of wine, followed by a "Horiatiki Greek salad."
Inna selected "Kokinisto me Manestra," or Lamb shank braised in aromatic spices with orzo & mizithra cheese for entrees. It was incredibly delicious!

I decided to try the "Moussaka," as it's a Greek specialty that I enjoy.

Although I really liked my Moussaka, Inna's Lamb Shank was better! For dessert, we shared a "Galaktoboureko" - a traditional Greek dessert made with custard in a crispy phyllo pastry shell with ice cream. It was very delicious.

We hope to return again.
