Dinner at Plumed Horse

For pre-Valentine's Day, I reserved an 8:00pm dinner at The Plumed Horse - a 1-star Michelin-rated restaurant in Saratoga.

We have always enjoyed eating at The Plumed Horse - even more than at the 3 Michelin Star-rated Manresa in downtown Los Gatos.


The Chef's Tasting Menu consisted of the following delicacies:
  1. Roasted Brussel Sprouts - parsnip, grapes, lemon verbena streusel
  2. Davenport Abalone - spot prawn, matsutake mushroom, shiso, shrimp chip
  3. Black Pepper and Parmesan Souffle 
  4. Black Cod - endive marmalade, tofu, pickled chanterelles
  5. Duck Breast - fermented celery root, Castelvetrano olive, semolina gnocchi
  6. Braised Beef Daube - herbed pasta, sweetbreads, fig, gastrique
  7. Comte Reserve - onion peach jam, confit pepper, micro salad
  8. Banana Mousse - banana cake, brown butter walnut, sesame powder, chilled Kyoto coffee
After dinner, we were offered delicious chocolates from Chocolaterie by Angelica, which were exquisite.

Of all the dishes, the Braised Beef was the most delicious entree.

We really enjoyed our dinner and hope to be back again!
