Lunch at Bad Ischl

On the way to Hallstatt from Vienna, we stopped for lunch at the beautiful village of Bad Ischl. The drive from Vienna was relatively uneventful except for traffic approaching Bad Ischl and Hallstatt. On the way here, we saw many beautiful Austrian lakes and houses decorated with flowers.

Bad Ischl is a small, beautiful little village with a highly rated Kaffee Zauner (used by the Austrian Empress Sisi) in the center of town (by the river).

Kaffee Zauner is famous for supplying pastries to Empress Sisi (who had quite a sweet tooth).

Alex ordered a hamburger with french fries while I selected a delicious sandwich.

Kaffe Zauner had lots of Austrian cakes and other delicacies to sample. The cakes looked and tasted fantastic!

I couldn't resist the sight of chocolate hedgehogs. Unfortunately, we did not order any. They looked delicious!

We enjoyed our short time in Bad Ischl and were wowed to return.
