SUP Surfing at Linda Mar

With a favorable (2-3 ft) forecast at Pacifica State Beach, I decided to restart my SUP surfing season. I woke at 06:30 (after loading all my surfing gear into my Toyota Sienna the night before).

After a quick fuel stop at Chevron, I drove to Pacifica State Beach and arrived at 07:53. Although it was early, the parking lot was already almost full! I found a convenient spot and put on my 4/3mm wetsuit.

I attached a leash to my 2021 Fanatic Allwave 9'3", got the carbon paddle, and walked to the beach. Lots of surfers were in the water, plus one other SUP surfer. I surfed for 90 minutes and caught a few nice rides. It was a gorgeous, windless October day!

Here is a lovely surf guide about surfing at Linda Mar / Pacifica State Beach. I mostly surfed near Taco Bell.

A surf contest used up part of the beach for contestants. Very nice, loud Hawaiian surf music was playing too.

I enjoyed the SUP surfing and would have stayed longer if conditions had been better. Next time, remember to arrive early to get a parking spot.
