This all-ages, family-friendly event runs for 10 nights from December 5–14, 2025. Experience breathtaking animated projections illuminating eight iconic buildings across the city's core, transforming them into colossal, colorful canvases featuring work by 19 artists from around the globe.
Our first stop was at the Hobart Building, which had some of our favorite displays.

Paper Tails of San Francisco is a poetic, time-bending journey inspired by the legendary canine duo Bummer and Lazarus, two beloved dogs who roamed San Francisco in the 1860s. Told through layered textures and shifting light, the piece follows Bummer as he steps into an unfolding paper world in search of his long-lost friend. Along the way, the story mirrors the evolution of the city itself and the transformation of one of its most iconic sites: the Transamerica Pyramid.
For dinner, we decided to try the Little Shucker restaurant that Inna had booked for 20:30. After looking at the menu, we ordered the following items:
- Appetizer: Little Shucker (6 oysters on a half-shell, 4 shrimps, tuna tartare), Bread & Butter
- Boris: Cup of Tomato Soup, Tuna Melt
- Inna: Cup of Soup, Rainbow Trout, Stadt Krems Gruner Veltliner wine
- Dessert: Chocolate Budino
Although we liked the restaurant, it was quite cold inside (the heater was blowing cold air), and we had to keep our jackets on.
We liked the Little Shucker Appetizer and the Rainbow Trout. The 6 oysters on a half-shell were tiny (and very expensive). All the other portions were on the smaller size, too. Even the tomato soup portion was minuscule. I felt like I was dining on portions meant for Hobbits.
We rode a Waymo back to the Sutter-Stockton garage, and Inna enjoyed her first time in a self-driving taxi.
