Review: Apple iPhone 11

After using my iPhone for the past 3 years, I decided it was time to upgrade. The most important reason, for me, was the poor battery life. My iPhone 7 was entirely out of battery by late afternoon (5pm), so I frequently needed to recharge the phone before going out to the gym.

I chose the standard iPhone 11 64GB from the various iPhone models available due to its large screen and reasonable price - $699. After multiple attempts to sell it on Craigslist, I decided to trade in my iPhone. I am pretty successful in finding buyers. However, I had no takers this time, even at a reasonable price of $200. Apple offered a $150 trade-in credit, and I accepted it.

Apple shipped a UPS box to my home, which was used to send my trade-in iPhone7 back to Apple. I received a $150 credit from Apple in about two weeks (just as expected).

After using the iPhone 11 for a few weeks, here is my list of positives and negatives.

Positives:
  • The screen display is excellent (even though it's not an OLED display)
  • Battery life is much better than my iPhone (I would say 2x better)
  • The phone is very responsive
  • The speakers are much louder than the ones on the iPhone 7

Negatives
  • I miss the home button and the fingerprint scanner. Facial recognition is hit/miss
  • I miss the 3.5mm audio jack that my older iPhone had
