Today, we decided to try what Yelp rates as the best gelato in San Francisco - Gelateria Naia on Columbus Ave, in North Beach of San Francisco.
Gelateria Naia offers a lot of gelato and sorbet flavors - we counted 40 different flavors in their North Beach location. Some of the flavors were very unique, like Whiskey and Burned Caramel. This is superior to our local Gelateria in Los Gatos - Dolce Spazio.
Naia's gelato is not made on-site but at a central location and delivered to each branch. We thought the gelato was delicious - especially the pistachio flavor - but the dark chocolate was not as good as the one we made at home using Valrhona chocolate.
We like to see gelato decorated with strawberries, fresh fruits, and other condiments. Naia's presentation was pretty plain.
