We haven't been to Carmel-by-the-Sea in a while, so we decided to revisit it on Saturday.
We met up with our friends at our favorite Mad Dogs & Englishmen Cafe, which has nice bicycle sidecars on display.
After sampling a few pastries and enjoying delicious cappuccinos, we walked down to the beach. Although it was mid-October, the weather was beautiful and a bit hot (reaching 85 Fahrenheit). We saw packs of sea otters in the ocean, an unusual sight for Carmel, as I rarely see more than one or two individuals.
After a leisurely walk around the beach to Carmel River State Beach, we decided to turn around. We had lunch reservations at Stationaery Cafe for 13:30 and didn't want to be late.
Once there, we waited to be seated outdoors (since our friends had brought their dog) and ordered a few items. I selected the Breakfast Plate, which was small but delicious.
